I recently designed and created a one-of-a-kind custom long, black for The Penny Rose’s Summer Fashion spread inspired by The Wizard of Oz. You can read the full post here, or view photos below.

This awesome linen vintage fabric was given to me by the lovely ladies at Stripe in Santa Cruz. Luckily there is a ton more fabric, so custom peplums are available. That’s the number of people killed so far when a Bangladesh garment-factory building collapsed on April 24, 2013. The factories supplied cheap clothing to retailers in Europe and the U.S., including J.C. Penney and Joe Fresh. You can read more about the disaster here.

The next time you shop and are tempted by clothes made in a garment factory like this one, remember that you have a choice. By choosing clothing that is ethically made, you are promoting equality and helping change labor laws for abused factory workers everywhere.
