Easy removable wall design upgrade – thanks contact paper!

Contact paper is awesome. It’s affordable, removable, easy to apply, and you can cut it into any design you’d like. I purchased this one on Amazon in brushed copper for $9.99. Here are a couple things I’ve done with it do far using a simple triangle shape…

Before and After: Gold Metallic Tape

With our recent move to Seattle from California, most of my free time has gone to filling our empty apartment with essentials rather than taking on new crafting and sewing projects. However, I couldn’t help but feel inspired by this picture I found on Pinterest:

Inspiration

I love the design on the wall and decided to try it out on a $20 dresser I got off Craigslist. She used gold sharpie, but I went with a gold metallic tape from Blick, which made it really easy.

Daddy’s Lil’ Helper

For the past few weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of making custom African wax print bow ties for Reverend Frederick Hanna, a wonderful client on the East coast. The other day he sent me this adorable photo of his daughter helping him pick out a “Ms. Sally” tie for the day. I’m so lucky to have such awesome, sweet clients and to get to be a small part of their lives! Totally makes my day!

The Endless Summer Dress

Dana Rader, owner of Stripe in Santa Cruz, found over a bolt of this fantastic vintage fabric and was generous enough to give it to me to make beautiful creations for all of you! You may remember the peplum I made from it a few months back. Well, hold on to your undergarments because there are even more designs to come in this fabric, including shift tops, pencil skirts, and dresses!

You can pre-order a shift dress like the one pictured below (with or without sleeves) in your size via Etsy. Each dress is $168, 100% linen (so you know it only gets softer and better with every wash), handmade, and one-of-a-kind. Please allow up to three weeks for the dress to made, although rush orders may be possible for an additional charge.
